Rowanberry opens with the kind of warm spice that makes you lean in closer, cardamom and pink pepper dancing with a whisper of frankincense. Then comes the surprise: rose that's been roughed up a bit by black pepper and rosemary, nothing precious or powdery about it. The whole thing settles into deep rowan woods and heated clove, grounding and almost brooding.
