Our shaving kits are truly one of a kind. Each bowl is meticulously hand made and colored with soft neutral colors. You'll never know it's concrete. The shaving soap is an Italian style cream soap that generates a ton of creamy, stable lather that will make shaving something to look forward to doing and the brushes are works of art. Made with badger hair knot, the brush handle is hand turned out of Maple and Cherry burl by a very dear friend and outstanding artisan.
Each bowl comes prefilled with 6 oz of shaving soap, scented with sandalwood. We also carry refill pucks that fit perfectly into the bottom of the bowl. See scent description for available fragrances.
These are one-of-a-kind, unique products that would make a fabulous gift for the men in your life.

Step 1: Prep Your Skin Start by washing your face with warm water to open up your pores and soften the hair. This will help to ensure a smoother shave. Step 2: Lather Up Wet your shaving brush with warm water and shake off any excess. Swirl the brush over your shaving soap in a circular motion to create a rich lather. This may take about 30 seconds to a minute. If needed, add a few drops of water to the brush to achieve your desired consistency. Step 3: Apply the Lather Using gentle circular motions, apply the lather to your face with the brush. This helps to lift the hairs and exfoliate the skin, prepping it for a close shave. Step 4: Shave Take your razor and shave in the direction of hair growth to minimize irritation. Rinse the razor often to keep it clear of excess lather and hair. For a closer shave, you can re-lather and shave gently against the grain. Step 5: Rinse and Soothe Rinse your face with cool water to close the pores and pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Finish off with a soothing aftershave balm or moisturizer to hydrate and protect your skin.

I was increasingly frustrated that the ingredients in my favorite body products were not only unpronounceable and unrecognizable, but also questionable as to if they were good for my body.
I started making body butters using simple, recognizable ingredients for myself and ended up making them as gifts as well.
I run a successful boutique business and love working with customers to create one-of-a-kind, custom products and gifts that are made with love and intention and filled with the peace and serenity of the mountains.
“I make my soaps in small batches, which allows me to oversee every tiny detail of production and put out high-quality products that you can not only feel good about using but that also leave your skin feeling amazing.”
Solitude Soapworks studio is situated on the back part of our homestead, overlooking flower gardens, forests, and the majestic high peaks.
It blends in as only an Adirondack Camp cabin can with a green metal roof and dark brown siding. Very unassuming from the outside but indoors is where the magic happens. You’ll find plants, crystals, and a wall of fragrance and color—it’s a hippie’s paradise, and there is always music playing. (It keeps the gremlins away.)
Our soaps are formulated to be gentle for all skin types, using only the highest quality plant-based butters and oils we can source, and our leave-on body products are made with organic ingredients wherever possible.
