Silky Oaty Goat is the result of a collaboration with one of my customers who complained bitterly of horribly itchy skin. It is a simple bar, with no fragrance or color. It is chock full of good skin loving goodies though!
Goat’s milk is naturally high in essential fatty acids which have a pH level that’s similar to humans. This means that it’s less irritating to our skin and is easily absorbed into our skin, hydrating and nourishing the new layers of skin that are forming underneath the top outermost layer of skin.
Colloidal oatmeal suppresses the need to scratch.
Honey acts as a humectant, drawing moisture to the skin and the added sugar content helps to increase the lather.
Mulberry Silk Fibers gives this bar a super luxurious silky feel.
Silky Oaty Goat contains: Olive oil, Tallow, Coconut Oil, Mountain Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Apricot Kernel Oil, Goats Milk, Colloidal Oatmeal, Honey and Mulberry silk fibers.
This listing is for one bar of soap. The handmade nature of cold process soap means that the weight and appearance of each bar may vary slightly.
Solitude soaps are handcrafted in Keene, NY in small batches with the highest quality ingredients. We use phthalate free fragrance oils, high quality essential oils, and our micas are ethically sourced and are cruelty free.
NOTE: In order to extend the life of artisan soap as much as possible, you’ll want to keep it dry in between uses by letting it drain on a soap dish rather than just letting it sit directly on your countertop or shower ledge.
I was increasingly frustrated that the ingredients in my favorite body products were not only unpronounceable and unrecognizable, but also questionable as to if they were good for my body.
I started making body butters using simple, recognizable ingredients for myself and ended up making them as gifts as well.
I run a successful boutique business and love working with customers to create one-of-a-kind, custom products and gifts that are made with love and intention and filled with the peace and serenity of the mountains.

“I make my soaps in small batches, which allows me to oversee every tiny detail of production and put out high-quality products that you can not only feel good about using but that also leave your skin feeling amazing.”

Solitude Soapworks studio is situated on the back part of our homestead, overlooking flower gardens, forests, and the majestic high peaks.
It blends in as only an Adirondack Camp cabin can with a green metal roof and dark brown siding. Very unassuming from the outside but indoors is where the magic happens. You’ll find plants, crystals, and a wall of fragrance and color—it’s a hippie’s paradise, and there is always music playing. (It keeps the gremlins away.)
Our soaps are formulated to be gentle for all skin types, using only the highest quality plant-based butters and oils we can source, and our leave-on body products are made with organic ingredients wherever possible.
